Thyme Syrup for Cough
Here is a simple and useful recipe for thyme syrup against cough:
First, take a handful of fresh thyme (or 2–3 tablespoons of dried thyme) and place it in a pot. Add about 2 cups of water and gently bring it to a boil. Then reduce the heat and let it simmer for 10–15 minutes. After that, remove from heat and allow it to infuse for another 10–15 minutes. Strain the liquid to remove the plant material. While the liquid is still warm (not hot), add honey to taste and stir until it dissolves. Honey not only sweetens the syrup but also helps soothe the throat. Optionally, you can add a little lemon juice for extra vitamin C and freshness. Finally, pour the syrup into a clean glass bottle and store it in the refrigerator. Take 1–2 teaspoons several times a day to help relieve cough and soothe the throat.
